Sickness & Cancellation Policy
Move and Mend with Em
At Move and Mend with Em, your health and wellbeing — and that of other clients — is my priority. This policy ensures a safe environment and protects appointment availability for everyone.
1. If You Are Unwell
Please do not attend your appointment if you have:
A fever or high temperature
Flu-like symptoms
Vomiting or diarrhoea (within the last 48 hours)
A contagious illness (e.g. COVID-19, norovirus, chickenpox)
An unexplained rash or infectious skin condition
Any condition your GP has advised requires rest or medical supervision
Massage therapy can place additional stress on the body, potentially worsening symptoms or delaying recovery. It also increases the risk of spreading infection to myself and other clients.
If you are unsure whether treatment is appropriate, please contact me before your appointment.
2. Attending While Symptomatic
If you arrive at your appointment displaying symptoms of illness, I reserve the right to refuse treatment in the interest of health and safety.
In this situation, the full treatment fee will be charged.
This policy is in place because:
Massage may exacerbate illness.
Close contact therapy increases the risk of contamination.
The appointment time cannot be reallocated at short notice.
3. Short-Notice Illness
If you become unwell within 24–48 hours of your appointment, please notify me as soon as possible.
Genuine illness will not automatically be penalised.
Repeated last-minute sickness cancellations may require prepayment for future bookings.
4. 48-Hour Cancellation Policy
Appointments require at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.
Less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a 50% charge.
Less than 24 hours’ notice or non-attendance will incur 100% of the treatment fee.
Late arrivals may result in reduced treatment time while the full fee remains payable.
This policy protects appointment availability and supports the sustainability of a small business.
5. If I Am Unwell
If I am unwell or unable to provide treatment:
You will be notified as soon as possible.
Your appointment will be rescheduled at a convenient time.
Any payments made will be transferred or refunded if preferred.
6. Agreement
By booking an appointment, you confirm that:
You are fit to receive massage therapy.
You will not attend while knowingly unwell.
You understand that treatment may be refused if you present with symptoms.
You agree to this Sickness & Cancellation Policy.
